Tee time….it’s cool out there

Well, some of us have the fantastic fortune of living in places where the weather is seasonably warm and relaxing year around. Even the work environment is at temperatures that are happy. You might not even have to constantly think about the setting of the thermostat. But…..if you are living where there are the four seasons and it’s starting to get chilly or the management has set the temperature at about freezing, then you know it is tee time.

Tee time?  Yes. That time of the year when scrubs are just not enough.  It’s that time of year when you want a little more warmth again the skin.  Now you might think sweaters would meet the need but they can be bulky and spoil if certain material is spilled, poured, dropped or otherwise transferred to your clothing. Scrub jackets are great for over cover but why not try a soft, warm, comfy tee.

Tees come in different styles and fabric so once you decide you want one, check out the different types available. Tees that have a rounded neck lines look especially great under v-neck scrubs and will show the color tee that you choose better. Also check the sleeve length and length of the top.  If you want to tuck the tee top into scrub pants a longer length will keep the tee secure when moving about and will not ride up like a shorter one.  Under a lab coat, a longer length tee will have a more professional appearance.

Cotton is the most prominent fabric used for tees and cotton is the most breathable of the fabrics. When choosing a fabric, tees that have a small amount of spandex with cotton in the content will fit smoothly on your form and shape to the body without bulk.

So if the weather outside is frosty check out a couple of tees and you will be snug during the wintry season.
