Pound Cake, A Classic

The summer 4th of July Holiday is almost here with grilling, friends, families and fun.  If you like an extra sweet easy dessert to add to the barbeque meal then why not try this easy pound cake one of my favorites. Toss the scrubs, scrub caps and scrub hats and check this Cinnamon Pound Cake, one of my favorites.

1 cup of butter unsalted

1-cup heavy cream

3 cups sugar

6 eggs large

3 cups all purpose flour

½ teaspoon baking powder

1/3-teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons or pure vanilla extract

A pinch of cinnamon

Grease and flour 10 inch Bundt pan.

In separate bowl shift together flour, salt and baking powder and set aside.

In another bowl beat together sugar and butter until fluffy.  Then add, one egg at a time, beating well with electric mixer. Next alternately add flour mixture and heavy cream a little at a time to the fluffy sugar-butter mix. Finally put in vanilla extract and cinnamon.

Pour batter into greased/floured pan.  Put in cold oven and then set temperature to 325 degrees F.  Bake for 1 hour 15 minutes without opening oven.  Bake for additional 15 minutes if necessary.  Remove from oven and cool in pan for about 15 minutes.  Invert cake onto your cake plate.  If you like fruit top some fresh berries on a slice of cake for an oh so great treat.

                                                                              Hope you enjoy!!!!!
